How do you analyze our classifications.

It would be wonderful to know more about how you scientists extract information from the raw data we generate. I suppose you look for images where several users mark kelp in similar places. Do you discard images when a couple people have marked nothing? What do you do with our cloud flags? Do you use our comments or hashtags?
Is there a blog post that describes the stages our data goes through? I have looked but found nothing. Could someone write one? I'm not a database nerd, but could follow a simplified explanation of how you sort and use what we produce. Thanks!
