Indeed! Searches for "Point Loma kelp" pull up all kinds of results. Seems to be a favorite of fishermen. Thanks for the Daily Zoo tag!

Search Paul Dayton - he's been studying this area for years, & now a number of folk from Scripps, SDSU, and others work there.
