Kelp Talk
Are there very faint spots a bit off headland in upper right of image?
green haze in upper left probably is not canopy kelp
San Nichols Island, California. Not Tasmania.
grn haze along shore in lower left may be algae but not likely a canopy kelp
Thoughts image? Is it contrast between shallows and deeper water or algae? Habitat good, semi-exposed grn haze looks low inter to subtidal
This was found while classifying Tasmania images. The image is the CA coast between Arroyo Sequit and Lechuza Pt.
San Nicholas Island image shows faint signs of kelp beds, on south shore. NOAA chart indicates presence of kelp along entire coastline.
Image of Malibu area Pt. Dume - south no indication of kelp. Yet photos of surfers in area show lots of bull and giant kelp in the breaks.
Thanks for the feedback. I've been using GoogleMaps to get higher resolution on FF images with interesting results.

New to FF. Is tagging flawed, and 0 coastline photos possible?
