Kelp Talk
over sea
swirls over land
Clouds follow shoreline
clouds over water, follow coastline
clouds follow shoreline
is this kale? puzzled by spotty effect.
Maybe the raven mothership on its way to annoy some condors?
spectacular artifact!
clouds exactly outline south end of Santa Catalina Island
Another interesting cloud pattern - this line of clouds exactly follows the coastline. A little thicker at the edge, clear sky over land.
Interesting! According to google earth there's an underwater ridge just under that diagonal line of clouds. Temperature difference?
San Nicholas Island, south coast
see discussion at AKP000k1a9
I asked about that blue color about amonth ago & was told it is a side-effect of the color manipulations they do to make kelp easier to see.
San Nicholas Island again!
red, blue & green polka dots
pretty rainboe artifacts onver these clouds -- like blurry jewels!
Is that kelp faintly showing through the edge of the Landsat scan, a little below the coast?
some kelp visible through clouds, probably more is hidden
San Nicholas Island again! Np clouds this time.
I just commented on possible kelp north of San Nicholas Island in AKP000mh2p That google earth link and this one show the same area. Wow?
from googlrearth it looks like the northern coast of San Nicholas Island
#clouds make my mark #innacurate but it sure looks like kelp there so I tried to flag it for checking another day
Many thanks, @Quia !
Why do the mountains look blue sometimes?
Warning to me! You almost mistook the cloud shadow near the top for a coastline & marked the green showing as kelp! Thanks GoogleEarth!
What is the cause of the "pin striped" look of the clouds in the lower part of the frame?
Can these green spots away from coasts be kelp?
picture incomplete, clouds, but there's something there. Kelp, algae bloom, or both?
Algae bloom or kelp?
inside that human-made "bay" there are small green patches that look like kelp. Should I mark them as well as rhe "wild" kelp outside?
Thanks for helping this newbie!
Is this kelp, or something artificial?
