  In some Google images, the Kelp appears to be dark Olive Green & other areas Dark Red-Brown. Is it different species of Kelp or perhaps Age?

  Sorry, Reddish-brown but dark in colour, not blood red or slightly red. Don't know a Synonym, English is my Second Language.

  In the Google images you are looking at true color, so the kelp will appear brownish, in these are false color, so kelp looks bright green.

  Thanks, TomBell:) - is it possible to identify different Kelp species like Macrocystis just by looking at true colour Google images?
