Ooh, a fire! #dailyzoo
@jebyrnes -- have you changed your mind following the new information that came out in email chain?
Wow, that's some gorgeous kelp. And check out the harvest lines! #dailyzoo
Oooh, verrry faint but I see what you're looking at!
Cyclone Center in Floating Forests! 😃
Might be a mix of greenery... some kelp near the top? Needs a #scientist opinion I think.
Hm, good question. I think I see a little kelp off the coast?
Gorgeous and super lush! 😃
Emphasis on "don't do it too often." Management is critical! May be why they stripe; like driving range etiquette? http://bit.ly/1IYQDcg

Google Earth can be really helpful for figuring out what you're looking at!
Lovely kelp; great find. And today I learned a bit about San Nicholas Island and the naval facility there!

That is definitely the greenest I have ever seen on this site! #dailyzoo
Great news!!

Channel Islands really are a treasure of floating kelp forests!
The island is Anacapa Island, by the way. 😃 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anacapa_Island
Indeed! Searches for "Point Loma kelp" pull up all kinds of results. Seems to be a favorite of fishermen. Thanks for the Daily Zoo tag!
Huge, and gorgeous. Good find!!
Wow, lots of it, and vivid green. Love it!
Very green! 😃
That looks a bit more like an artifact to me... it's on top of the clouds. Kelp usually doesn't show up there, in my experience! 😃
Ooh, great forest. Good find!
I always like finding out which island it is. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anacapa_Island Apparently it has 3 permanent residents! 😃
Not only no kelp... not even any water! ;_;
And sometimes you can even find out exactly what island! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Refuge_Island_(Tasmania)
